Home ABOUT US WHAT'S ON Parents STORIES
1st Oakdale Beaver Scouts
Beaver Scouts are 6 to 8 year old boys and girls who like having fun and making friends. They are the youngest members of the Scout Association and meet once a week in Colonies during school terms. Beaver Scout activities are a combination of learning and having fun, whether it be simple crafts such as making toys from scrap materials or visits to interesting places. Beaver Scouting is also about caring and sharing. Recently we visited the local fire station and learnt about fire safety around the home.
Beaver Scouts promise
After a few weeks of going to a Colony, a Beaver Scout will make their first promise, thereby becoming a member of the Beaver Scout Section which has over 100,000 members. This also makes the Beaver a member of the World-wide Scout Movement which has a membership of over 20 Million. The promise is very simple:
I promise to do my best, to be kind
and helpful and to love God.
Beaver Colony meetings are held in Oakdale Scout Hut during school term time.
If you think your child would be interested please don't hesitate to contact us.
