Home ABOUT US WHAT'S ON JOIN Contacts
PHOTO'S Contacts HISTORICAL NEWS Shop
You can become involved as a parent by becoming a member of the newly formed Committee. This is entirely voluntary, and the group meets on the last Tuesday of every month. The primary aim for this year is fundraising in order to sustain all the groups for the future.
If you have a talent, or think you can bring some skills or knowledge to the children, we are looking for individuals who can volunteer half an hour of their time to give talks or demonstrations to the children, e.g. Police Officers, Fire Officers, First Aider's, Teachers, etc.
If you think you can help out please contact the group Leaders on the contacts page.
As a parent of a child in Scouting, we
would like to welcome you to the Scouting
family.* We know that you play a big part in your child’s
involvement in Scouting, through both practical help and encouragement. We would
therefore like to say a big THANK YOU for all you do and hope that the following
information is useful to you.
* If your child is not yet in Scouting and you are looking for some joining information please go to www.scouts.org.uk/join
Whether your child is new to Scouting, or has been a Member for some time, you will find information here to help you make their experience an enjoyable one. You will also find out ways in which you can get involved with Scouting.
Your child is now one of a family of 28 million young people in 216 countries and territories who join in the fun and adventure of Scouting every week. The experiences your son or daughter has as a Scout are likely to stay with them for the rest of their lives.
Your child’s Leader may have given you a no-nonsense parents’ guide to Scouting, in association with St Ivel, a new publication launched by The Scout Association in October 2006. The information on these pages is similar to that contained in the guide but also includes details such as the latest news and special offers from our corporate partners, practical information such as how to roll a neckerchief and information on where badges go! You’ll also find an A-Z of Scouting terms.
Why not let your child’s Leader know what skills and hobbies you have so they can match these to the Section programme? They can then invite you to share something you enjoy. Download the family information form.
